Editorial Note: Commencement

April 22, 2009

Over the next few weeks preceding May’s commencement festivities, The E Street Beat will feature the voices of several graduating students as they reflect back on their time within the Elliott School and look forward to the future.   Elliott School students pursue a wide variety of activities both within and outside the walls of 1957 E St., and as their time on campus winds to a close, many of our students have interesting stories to tell that evoke fond memories and illuminate the opportunities available to other current and future students.

If you are a current student preparing for graduation and would like to share your Elliott School story, we invite you to submit your thoughts (in essay format) to for publication consideration.

Welcome to The E Street Beat!

February 25, 2009

Welcome!  This site is a portal into student life at The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.  Our students constantly tell us fascinating stories about their experiences within the Elliott School, and The E Street Beat was created by the Office of Academic Advising and Student Services in order to share them with the wider Elliott School community.  All of our contributors are current students, and they share their perspectives and advice on how to get the most out of their time on E Street.

Our hope is that current students will find The E Street Beat a tremendous resource when searching for opportunities to enrich their Elliott School experience.  We hope, too, that alumni will reconnect with their own experience as students in the Elliott School, and that prospective students will gain a better perspective of student life as they decide to make the Elliott School their new home.

We hope that you will drop by often to read about the amazing things our students do!
